How Many Applicants Use Private Counselors?
This short piece about private college counselors estimates that 22% of all students entering private colleges this year used such a counselor.
Presumably, that figure includes everything from high-end local counselors to online college consultants. Still, it's very revealing about the current state of affairs in the admissions world if nearly one in four applicants to non-public colleges are paying for extra help.
