Skipping the SAT and ACT
Part of an NPR series on college admissions, this piece discusses students who choose not to take the SAT or ACT and instead opt for colleges that don't require either test.
While this may make sense for some, students should be careful about severely limiting their options just because they "don't test well." The vast majority of schools still require the SAT or ACT, and for most students simply working as hard as they can to improve their test scores is the best option. Remember - standarized tests are just one part of the admissions puzzle.
